Visa

Upon receiving a postdoctoral offer from UC, we begin the visa application process approximately 90 days prior to your arrival, although this may vary depending on where you plan to apply.

International postdoctoral researchers will need a temporary residence visa. This type of visa can last up to two years and leads directly to permanent residency. It allows recipients to receive payments from multiple sources and gives them the flexibility to issue boletas (a legal payment receipt commonly used in Chile) for services rendered to institutions other than their main employer. For this reason, we do not accept any other type of visa.

The Postdoctoral Office of the Faculty will be happy to assist you throughout the immigration process.
